Program Note: Burst was composed while in residence at the Bang on a Can Summer Festival in 2014. At the festival you are surrounded by performers enthusiastic for new music, amazing contemporary art at Mass MoCA, and the beautiful scenery of the Berkshires. This piece was a result of this incredibly inspiring environment and was written in one day for an impromptu performance several days later by Adrianne Pope and Xina Hawkins.
